Gabriele Basilico, a unique photographer

in Arts+ Crafts, Ispiration
Last February, Gabriele Basilico passed away and the world lost a unique photographer. His urban landscapes, mainly in black and white – or more precisely in shades of grey – give the impression that time has been suspended in order to allow him to capture the essence of the space with his faithful large-format Rolleiflex. In his vision, human beings are only passing inhabitants because the architecture, the landscape is enough to describe life.
This supreme photography, born as a reportage, gains a place in the art world. It would be amazing to own one of the photos by Gabriele Basilico, it would be like having a  window overlooking a melancholic still view of the soul.
