In one recent post I spoke about how important it is for an interior to be in harmony with its surroundings. This house, published in the December issue of Italian Elle, speaks marvelously about Venice, it reflects its elegance, its richness of beautiful handicrafts and art, its cosmopolitan soul and its past as a conqueror of the East. The owners, Alvise and Carla Alverà, mixed antique furniture taken from palaces, oriental pieces (see for instance the Uzbekistan textile in the second picture from top), finely handmade decorations (see  picture one by Idarica Gazzoni), the vibrant colours of the venetian ancient fabrics and a contemporary comfort. I love it, and I haven’t even mentioned the 360° degree view from the terrace.
