Despite all the thoughts you can possibly have about the church and the extravagance the church has displayed for centuries, it is undoubtedly that some of the most magnificent art work in the world is found in places of worship. Parma, in the north of Italy, is an excellent example of this. The photos of this post were taken (by me) in the Duomo, in the church of San Giovanni and in the church of Santa Maria della Steccata in Parma. The jubilation (notice the choice of word) of colours is breath-taking and totally inspiring.
