African inspired bathroom

in Interiors, Ispiration
I am over the moon!
+deco is going through a restyling and it is becoming a website!
It was in fact about time to take a step forward and technically improve the interface of +deco in order to make the interface easier for the ever growing number of readers!
I have so many ideas in mind and a load of projects for the blog, including a competition but let’s take one step at a time.
Today I wanted to show you this little African inspired bathroom  by the LA based interior designer Amber Lewis.
In order to achieve an African look you need the following elements:
-black
-african inspired patterns or design
-earthy colours
-plants
-african inspired textiles.
Amber Lewis went for the full look and in fact when renovating the bathroom of her new office and retail space she used all the above elements.
The geometrical designed wallpaper is Mali from Amber’s collection. On the other wall she used long and thin tiles that she painted in glossy black. The golden faucets are from Kohler.
The wooden chest of drawers, the wooden round mirror, the pots and baskets insert an earthy colour. The beautifully textiled rug injects colour and texture. Two plants (that I am not sure are going to have a long life to be honest) and two cacti complete the look.
